Volunteer

Since Fidelis House opened its doors in 1992, volunteers have been the cornerstone of our organization. We would not exist without the generosity, commitment, and enthusiasm of our volunteers. We are dependent on our volunteers who help in the provision of direct services to our guests, help raise money to provide those services and help govern and guide Fidelis House through our Board of Directors. The commitment of our amazing group is at the core of who we are and what we are able to accomplish.  Our volunteers contribute in many different ways to make Fidelis House truly a “home away from home”. Our need for volunteers continues to grow. Our range of volunteer opportunities offers you the chance to work with us in many different and rewarding ways.

Volunteer Opportunities: 

House Duties:  
This is one of the primary volunteer opportunities. After attending an orientation and training session, each volunteer will spend a 3 hour shift, weekends 4 ½ hours and overnight 9 PM to 9 AM. Our volunteer apartment (adjacent to the reception area) includes a comfortable bedroom and private bathroom. Their duties include checking families into and out of the House, conducting tours, providing light housekeeping and helping in the office. Fidelis House Volunteers are asked to make a minimum monthly commitment.

Sharing your Skills: 
Volunteers work directly with the Volunteer Coordinator matching their skills with the needs of Fidelis House to provide a wide-range of support services.

Project Ideas: 
There are lots of ways to get involved with Fidelis House whether it’s once a week or once a month. We’re always open to new ideas; please get in touch with the Volunteer Coordinator to discuss how you can help.
